In this thread, you can post about how you feel and how your day went, and what went on in your day, and coment on other peoples days.
-I'm having an okay day, then again it is Monday, and it is school....:b ...Kind of sleepy too. |I

I guess I'm having an okay day, as far as mondays go. That giant horse picture of yours, though, is messing up my display of the whole Fluffer's Lodge. Is there any way you could resize it?

I am tired. Have physical therapy tommorrow, jippy.
My phone bill is high from calling the world...where is Pippin? :heart I miss him!:cry2

February 9th, 2004, 10:24 PM
Aww... poor Eowyn!
Pippin's at my house doing some homework.
Eowyn Elfsheen
February 9th, 2004, 10:31 PM
Send him over by my house, I need him for my jobs, I'll pay him in cash. I need a little helper here alone in this big house alone, and it is quite cold today, windy as well.
There is much ale and pipeweed and it comes in pints too! :heart

Eowny. I'll be sure to tell him.
Maybe we could clone him so both of us can keep him!

I had a good day today, getting some much needed stitching time in a present for my oldest son's wedding next month. Yikes!
I'm currently listening to the soundtrack of RoTK while I play here.
Eowyn Elfsheen
February 10th, 2004, 09:46 AM
I am taking Pippin home today, he wants to stay in my house with a nice fireplace and a basement of fine ale and pipeweed. He came over quite late, has having nightmares, but he fell asleep again now. Must have had a bad apple :(
My arm is hurting a bit but I will have to order Pippin some carry-in second breakfast soon (and all the other food he wants, he can just call and order it) because my arm hurts a bit and I have physical therapy soon. He seems to like apples a lot, or just fruits. Very earthy hobbit is he. Well, he has the whole house while I am gone, so he should be occupied. Maybe I will have to show him how to use swords later in the day, with my good arm. It was nice of him to want to stay with me here, he did startle me in my sleep though. :heart I hope he likes my horses when he meets them.
EDIT: This hobbit is a fool! I had to teach him to use the phone today for an hour to say (translated from Icelandic) 'Hállo, this is Pippin Took, please send to Elfsheen....'(whatever he wants to eat, whenever he wants to). He has no idea about computers, DVD players or anything...so I gave him some toy to play with and my pens and some books.
I had to make him bathe before he could touch my phone, looked like he was rolling in a cabbage patch, poor Hobbit. He seems to be fond of the pastries the old lady down the road sends me, sugar is liked by him. He seems to like it here, though it is frustrating....I wonder, is this what it is like to have children?
Tarcristiel
February 10th, 2004, 09:23 PM
Only if he asks you 2700 times a day "why is the sky blue?", "where do horses go when they die?", "can you eat a worm?", "why is there air?", etc. :lol
Eowyn Elfsheen
February 10th, 2004, 10:59 PM
Well, he is that way in a sense. I am scared to show him the horses, they are a bit big, it is cold outside and he refuses to try to keep his hairy feet warm, he says the hair is enough. He keeps asking about this toy that says "Pippin" on the box, I don't want to tell him the story, I will have to read to him tonight so he forgets about it, he likes stories. He ate every mushroom in the store! Crazy hobbit! They are not even in season, so I will have to special order him some. Maybe keep some in the pantry. He drank a lot of ale today and is singing drunk in my bedroom...crazy hobbit...
He is always asking where he is going when he is obviously not going anywhere he wasn't already, maybe I do have a child here....:) :) :)

I am tired; hubby got measured for his tux. And then we hit the stores for a dress for me. No luck today. We have a birthday party tomorrow for my niece's 3-yr old son, so I will dress-hunting again on Monday.
I wish I could bag a dress as easily as Aragorn seems to bag orcs. :lol
However, after coming home from shopping, I gently asked Wayne if we could go see RoTK again. After all, it's been almost a month since I last saw it. At first, he said he was too tired, but he ate some salad, and now we're off to the cinema! Hooray!

Then my beloved Baltimore Orioles won the season opener! Hooray! :bounce

*sigh* I'm very tired. I've had almost no sleep for the past three days or so, having been completely occupied with practicing for a musical in which I must play electric cello. The last practice we had went from about 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Today we practiced from 7:45 AM to about 9:45... then we performed - it didn't sound good. On the up side, I was dismissed from every one of my classes today. I just have to wait for another half an hour, though, before we have another practice, so that we don't sound like crap for the next three performances which will be on the 6th, 7th, and 8th of May... they'll start at 7:00 PM, or so, but they won't be over until about 10:00... Oh well. Electric cellos with distortion sound just like electric guitars. Very neat... except for the fact that everyone's watching the cellos, since they're 'so cool!' and so if I make a mistake it's quite noticeable in any of my some four solos. If I ever decide that I'm going to play pit for a musical again, I hope somebody shoots me.

Well, as for myself, I just came back from a VolksWagen show in Lawrence, Kansas, but I have a band practice (church) coming up at 2:30, so I'm a little tired. Fairly happy, though, since school's over. :)c

Oooh... I know how that feels. Bleh.
Say, Balin, just out of curiosity, how much do you squat?
Poguemahone

Barahir
May 30th, 2004, 07:36 PM
How much weight can you squat (the technique of 'squat' involves putting a 45 lb. bar on your shoulders with weights on either end)? I can usually rep 265-275lb. a few times.
Poguemahone

Barahir
June 7th, 2004, 10:22 PM
Thanks. Yeah, I've noticed that. Why is that, do you think?
Tarcristiel
June 7th, 2004, 11:33 PM
Congarts, Lorian!
Unless businesses are specifically looking for summer help, it's tough for a teen to get a job because the employer is concerned how long the teen will stay. Does he want the job for just the summer? How much time will he want off, or just call out, so he can go to the beach with his buddies.
And there's a perception of teens as lazy or rude or both. It is tough looking for a job as a teen unless you live near a resort where they want summer help.
Best of lucks, job-seekers.
X Rogue
June 8th, 2004, 01:04 PM
I never had trouble getting a summer job as a teen, but that prolly had something to do with the fact that I never tried to get one till I was 19. And I looked and was very responsible.

Back on topic:
I am feeling great today. Saw my GP, and the blood pressure looks good, and I've lost some more weight. I sure didn't like going through all the pain with the gall bladder, but a good side effect (for me) has been a decrease in my appetite. I find it easier to recognize when I'm full, and I don't feel compelled to finish everything on my plate any more. The other day I ate half a Hershey's bar with almonds (snack size) and had no problem throwing the rest of it away. Yay!

Lothíriel

I had a great day today!
First, I had lunch with a former co-worker. Although we haven't worked together for almost 4 years, we still stay in touch and get together for lunch 2-3 times a year. We always have a fun time.
We had agreed to meet in front of the Barnes & Noble bookstore. I got there early so, after checking out the cross-stitch mags and not finding anything worth buying, I checked out the Tolkien selection. And guess what I got? They had both Sauron Defeated and Morgoth's Ring - in hardback! Well, it did not take me very long to decide I had to scarf them up right then and there. Those two titles have been hard-to-find (for me) so I am delighted. Of course, I've blown my book budget for June & July, but who cares?
After I got home, I realized I had enough time to watch Pirates of the Caribbean before picking up my son from work, so I watched and stitched. After dinner, I finished the LoTR trilogy by watching RoTK and stitching some more.
And now I'm posting here! What a great day. :)
