. . The Fellowship of the Ring was published! :bday

A wonderful journey began that day. A whole new world of imagination, great deeds, sacrifice, trust, loyalty, courage and friendship opened up before us.

Without this wonderful story, this board as it is would not exist. Many of us would not know each other, whether in cyberspace or in realtime. For everything you gave us, thank you, Professor Tolkien.

I cannot even imagine where I would be today without the Lord Of The Rings. It's sobering.

Without Tolkien...well, I wouldn't be on this board, I (probably) wouldn't have met Davis, I would be searching for something really cool to fill my coolness void, and I would have a lot more bookshelf space. :P

Since I am late to the world of Tolkien (introduced when I was thirteen and unimpressed, sticking the whole series on the backburner until last year), this influence is not as profound for a foundation.

It is however, a heavy influence now, leading me on a search in a new, but old direction.....putting together all points to become the ultimate storyteller.
