The Discovery shuttle has successfully lifted off, now, and is in orbit. No problems have been reported, thankfully.

:D This is very exiting... I used to want to be an astronaut (well, really, I wanted to piolit the shuttle)

I'm just glad there were no issues, I love the space program

Alas! If only Nessa were still here. She is my cousin, and her father works with NASA.

This is so exciting! I know I'm dating myself, but I remember watching Alan Shepherd going into space, John Glenn orbiting the earth (we spent that whole day watching the flight, which was televised start to finish), the Eagle landing on the moon and Neil Armstrong being the first human to walk on the Moon, and the launch of the first shuttle. And of course the tragedies; I remember seeing them too.

Praying this flight goes well, and everyone returns safe and sounds.

”Ah!” said Sam. “And where will they live? That‘s what I often wonder.”

Yes. We didn't have a Challenger lift off, and hopefully we won't have a Columbia re-entry.

Ground Control to Major Tom!

One of these days, Alice...to the moon!

I'm glad they finally got it up up up, and most importantly, all in the right number of pieces. :)

The Challenger's lift off was a little challenged.

Oh, I thought they said the weather conditions didn't permit it to land in Florida. I must not have paid close enough attention. Oh well.

D'oh. Sorry, habit. I'm just used to them landing at Canaveral or Houston.
