I thought it was a good mystery- thriller story! I liked it a lot!
I have been to some of the places and saw some of the paintings both before and after I read it! Although I don't belive most of his theories, I found very interesting how somebody with big imagination takes ordinary and well-known things and, with a little twisting, produces a totally different (but quite belivable) world! This is called TALENT!

But he's not talented. Exactly the same ideas were put foreward in a previous book "Holy Blood and Holy Grail" which I (unfortunatly for me) read years ago. The Da vinci code is a badly written attempt to copy something someone else has done. It's like it's written by a 12 year old kid.

Maybe, and I admitt some of the ideas are old. Especially from Holy blood, Holy grail. But I do believe most of what he put through, as sensible, but I do agree that quite a lot of the story was copied. It was a good read though, and you absorb some of the facts without realizing it, I wish they would do something like that for, say, a biology text book. It would make learrning more fun I you would absorb a lot of intresting info without realizing.

read angels and demons, by the same author. good book, touching basis with Davinci code as well, but I found more interesting. basically priest goes scientist, but tries to explain the catholic religion's belief in the "world in 7 days" thing. all I can say, is that creating matter out of nothing is key in this story. I suggest a read

The fact that someone can write a book with little to no comprehension of grammar. That was amazingly weird.

it's a great book, although dont get caught up in it too much afterwards. dan brown makes his money off of filling his books up with half truths and some wierd facts and making people believe every word of if. it's called fiction, and i pity the people who get caught up in it too much and believe anything that man writes. dont get me wrong, he's got amazing books and i can wait for the movie, this is just a warning for the wise

It turns out that The Da Vinci Code isn't as magnificent as my father made it seem. But I've read it three times since I first started this thread.
